From the BBC
He was "deeply upset" that his home was raided at 0600 with press photographers in tow, when the allegations had "nothing whatsoever to do with me".
Mr Redknapp, 60, was one of five men arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud and false accounting.
Among those arrested were Portsmouth's former chairman Milan Mandaric.
'Entirely different'
Mr Redknapp told a press conference that his wife had been "petrified" during the raid, which took place while he was away from home at a Champions League match in Germany.
He added that he was at a loss to explain why he had been treated in this manner as he did not believe that the matters being investigated concerned him.
The Portsmouth manager said: "I still feel I was only called in because I have a high profile. I add a bit of a profile to the investigation."
He added that he had called in his players for a meeting, and been "completely open" with them about the allegations.
He said his family were "deeply heartbroken by the situation".
He said: "It was a bitter disappointment for me and my family. We were deeply heartbroken by the situation."
And Mr Redknapp asked "why it had to be brought into the public domain when I wasn't involved in any part of it".
Another of those who were held is understood to be Charlton player and Senegalese international Amdy Faye, currently on loan to Rangers.
The City of London Police inquiry is believed to be centred on the transfer of Mr Faye to Portsmouth from the French club Auxerre, and from Portsmouth to Newcastle, deals set up by agent Willie McKay.
Paul Martin, the solicitor representing Mr Redknapp and Mr Storrie, said the inquiries did not relate to either of them. "They relate to entirely different individuals."
A spokesman for Mr Mandaric, 69, said the Leicester City chairman would "continue to offer his full and total support to the police".
Police said the arrested men were aged 69, 60, 55, 48 and 30 and had been questioned over conspiracy to defraud and false accounting.
The 69-year-old was also held on suspicion of money laundering, a spokesman said.
'Totally unrelated'
Detectives from the economic crime unit of the City of London Police are investigating allegations of corruption within football and its impact on owners and shareholders.
In July, officers raided Newcastle United, Portsmouth and Rangers football clubs as part of the inquiry.
A spokesman for Portsmouth said on Wednesday the club's chief executive and manager had "been asked to help police with their inquiries concerning a matter dating back to 2003" prior to the new owner taking control of the club in 2006.
He added the club was "fully supportive of Peter and Harry".
Rangers FC have confirmed that a player was arrested in a matter "totally unrelated" to the club.
The latest arrests bring the total number of people detained in connection with the investigation to seven.
In September, a 28-year-old man was arrested in London and in May, a 61-year-old man was arrested in Manchester on suspicion of money laundering.
A separate inquiry conducted last year by former Metropolitan Police Commissioner Lord Stevens highlighted concerns over 17 player transfers and five Premier League clubs.

From Vital Portsmouth
So Everyone Is Against Pompey
Play Up Pompey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Three points on Saturday then :-)
Bloody Hell Now This
The Titchfield Village Trust have reported that evidence for an Iron Age and Romano-British ditched settlement has been found by the archaeological survey in part of the site which is 'potentially of national significance'.
The Village Trust have already objected to the proposals which are due to be considered by the council planning committee on 19 December. The Trust's objections were based on 'sound planning reasons' and centred on the development affecing the character of the 'protected' historic landscape.
Now English Heritage have apparently written a detailed letter to the Council calling for the refusal of the application not only because of the adverse impact on the setting of the abbey, barn and fish ponds but also because of the impact on the buried archaeology.
Pompey had been hoping to have the training ground ready for use by the start of next season but other environmental concerns meant that the planning application had already become drawn out and subject to several studies and surveys one of which detected the presence of dormice for which special provision had to be made.
Now the ambitious plans look to be facing a new threat after the unearthing of this potentially valuable archaeological find, all worthy of Tony Robinson and his TV Time Team.

Redknapp Said
Redknapp spoke as he returned to his multi-million pound home at Sandbanks, Poole, Dorset.
He said: "We all helped the police with their enquiries, but it doesn't directly concern me, it's other people involved. I've been answering questions to help the police. I am not directly concerned with their enquiries."
Redknapp confirmed that he had been arrested and said: "They have to arrest you to talk to you, for you to be in the police station. I think that's the end of it, it didn't directly concern me."
Oh Dear!!!!!
Reports had claimed that Redknapp and Storrie were among five people to have been arrested in raids on Wednesday.
According to the Evening Standard's This Is London website, Leicester City chairman Milan Mandaric, Rangers midfielder Amdy Faye and football agent Willie McKay were also arrested.
The City of London Police's economic unit headed the raid which is part of the same ongoing investigation which saw Tottenham defender Pascal Chimbonda arrested in September.
Police confirmed on Wednesday that five men - aged 69, 60, 55, 48 and 30 - had been arrested following raids.
A spokeswoman for the Police said: "Five men have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud and false accounting as part of an ongoing investigation into football corruption.
"Three searches are currently under way. Five additional searches at a variety of locations across the country have been concluded."
The Police's investigation is separate to that of the Quest inquiry which was launched last year by the Football Association with Lord Stevens at the helm.

Portmouth 0- 0 Man City
This was a very good game that we should of won, but one again at home we drew a blank.
The pub was quite a nice one but no Stella for Mum but they did have Newcastle Brown Ale good stuff. The pub looks like it has been revamped recently but after a couple of drinks we headed of for the game.
This one was on T.V. and it was only a few years ago that Pompey on T.V. was a rare and big event, but now it’s common place.
We came at Man City from the off and it felt like a goal was coming, but as the match went on it looked more like a draw. City did come to beat us and we wanted to beat them but we cancelled each other out, we would of won if only Hart had not played so well for City in goal.
Only Arsenal have managed more goals than Portsmouth in the Premier League this season and the home side's early play here showed why they have been in such free-scoring form.
City were having to withstand some substantial pressure by this point but they stood firm and Richard Dunne and Micah Richards both made key interceptions as Pompey continued to press.
And how Nugent did not score beyond me Hart was finally beaten when Pompey subsitute Nugent's shot was deflected past him off Richards but the ball ricocheted back off the inside of the post.
All in all a good point but 2 points dropped at Home again.
So a two week break until we play away at Brum Play Up Pompey!!!!!
