Pompey 3 - 0 Leeds (League Cup)

25 quid!!!!! sod that I'm not going. That’s what I heard all round Pompey and South East Hampshire. And when the official attendance came out at 8,502 it shows people won’t pay even when they love the club so much. Most people said 15 to 20 quid would be ok. I know Leeds and Pompey set the price and the Police put the match as a cat A so the cost of the Police was a lot, but put the price down a bit and kids for a quid and Pompey would pack em in.
A few years ago Leeds beat us 5-1 in the F.A Cup and they were heading for Europe! Now they are the underdogs what has happened to this old great club?
As I did not go it was time to put the radio on again. I must say Leeds were the better side for most of the match but we beat them and Nugent got his first goal and it could be his last. Play Up Pompey

Pompey 3 - 1 Bolton

So as it was an early kick off thanks to Sky Sports no sooner had I woke up I was going down to Pompey. Met Mum outside the marquee outside Fratton Park and went in for a quick drink, no big T.V. inside but three smaller ones so we watched the end of Soccer AM.

To the game and it was a good win against a poor Bolton side even when they took the lead with Anelka. It did look bad at this point After collecting El-Hadji Diouf's pass down the left channel, the French forward accelerated towards goal and drilled the ball low and hard before the pursuing Hermann Hreidarsson could make a challenge. Two minutes later when Kanu headed home a corner, but the referee had already whistled for an infringement. Kanu, however, did restore parity after 16 minutes - with Bolton the team feeling aggrieved this time as Hreidarsson seemed to tug Anelka's shirt on the half-way line but no foul was awarded. Utaka's brilliant individual goal saw Pompey take the lead collecting the ball just inside the Bolton half before sprinting towards goal and rounding Jaaskelainen before slotting home. When Kanu was taken down for a pen the game as a contest was over. I had to rush out quick to see my Daughter in Dorset at a music School she had been to all week and then bring her home. Well I saw a few scummers who I gave abuse to as you do!!!!!

So we get our first win of the season so it’s only Chelsea away next Saturday easy easy easy Play Up Pompey!!!!!

England!!!!!!!!

Sol Campbell and David James are included in the 28-man England squad for Wednesday's friendly against Germany. At last and about time!!!!!!

Pompey 1-1 Manchester United

It was good to be back and what a game it was. The evenings started at the pub as I said early the pub has knocked a hole in the wall to the next building and are in the process of doing it up, they put some chairs and a sofa or two in it. We sat on a sofa and had a couple of drinks I look forward to coming back when it is finished we will come back later in the season and maybe have a drink!

After we popped into the Pompey superstore we headed for the ground and with our new season cards we got up to the new turnstiles and got in with no probs.

So to the game the first half was all United we played a 433 formation that did not work United took the lead when new signing Carlos Tevez set up Paul Scholes who fired in from 25 yards, and I had a feeling we were about to be destroyed but no up pops Benjani with superb header past Edwin van der Sar. Redknapp changed formation at half time and the goal proves it worked. The match ended on an unsavoury note when Muntari received his marching orders from referee Steve Bennett after a late challenge on Carrick, and then Ronaldo received a straight red for his part in a head butt on Hughes.
So we get another point so roll on Bolton this Saturday Play Up Pompey

Leicester 1 - 3 Pompey

David Nugent was on target as Pompey came from behind to beat Leicester 3-1 in a pre-season friendly at the Walkers Stadium.
Iain Hume put the Foxes ahead in the 14th minute when a clever ball from Mark de Vries put him through on goal.
Pompey levelled six minutes later though as Nugent, sidefooted in Arnold Mvuemba's cross. Nugent turned provider this time as Lomana LuaLua latched onto his cross to score. LuaLua was then heavily involved in Pompey's third as his good work presented substitute Franck Songo'o with a chance to drill home from the edge of the box with eight minutes to go.
So that’s it for Pre-season this year and we look good, I don’t think we will do as well as we did last year but we won’t be fighting relegation either, a good cup run me thinks. I still think we will get one more in soon and I hope it’s a striker, Play Up Pompey!!!!

Newport (I.O.W.) 0 - 7 Pompey
