Liverpool 0 - 0 Pompey (Pompey win on pens)

Pompey beat Liverpool 4-2 in a penalty shoot-out Friday to win the Barclays Asia Trophy in Hong Kong, Pompey goalkeeper David James was awarded the Man of the Match. After playing 90 minutes without scoring, the match immediately went to penalty kicks that saw Pompey's John Utaka losing the first shot at goal. Liverpool got its penalties from Steven Gerrard and Dirk Kuijt while recently signed Fernando Torres and Yossi Benayoun missed shots. The championship was later secured by Matthew Taylor, Lomana Lua Lua and Hermann Hreidarsson. Nico Kranjcar scored the deciding shot. this game was only a freindly but it was good to get one back on Liverpool for that pen shoot out in the F.A. cup a few years back. So it's of to A.F.C. Bournemouth this week Play Up Pompey!

Pompey 1 - 0 Fulham

Well so Pompey play for the first time in the Far East, ok it was only Fulham (they may think the same about us!) but it is good to see Pompey get some world wide attention so to speak. And seeing some Chinese people with Pompey tops on is a bit hard to take, but it can only be good for the club.
Pompey played well on my TV but it is still pre season but at the stroke of half-time when Nico Kranjcar’s speculative shot was parried by Zat Knight into the path of Mwaruwari, who gratefully buried the easy chance. So Pompey get to the final after a hot and hard game and Mwaruwari scores again!!!! It was good to see the new Pompey players and we looked ok at the back and midfield but up front?
So its Liverpool on Friday Play Up Pompey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Hong Kong

From Pompey-Fans.com
Pompey take on Fulham on Tuesday in front of 40,000 - ironically more than the total who will watch both Premier League games between the sides this season. In the 1990s the only tournament away from UK shores Pompey were invited to was the Anglo-Italian Cup - and they didn't do very well in that. Pompey were given the sort of welcome at Hong Kong International Airport that the likes of Manchester United or Arsenal wouldn't have been ashamed of in the past.Players were screamed at, photographed and would have been mobbed but for security barriers keeping back the hordes. They made their way by coach to their base for some rest and some light training ahead of Tuesday's game, which kicks off mid-morning UK time. Play Up Pompey!!!!!!!!!!

The thing is I will be at work when they play thank god for Sky +

Radio Ga Ga

Got this from the Guardian

Portsmouth Football Club is to acquire a 50% share in three local radio stations on the south coast.
The club has entered into a heads of agreement with The Local Radio Company to form a joint venture to run The Quay in Portsmouth, Spirit FM in Chichester and Isle of Wight Radio.
Portsmouth FC said it aimed to "strengthen its ongoing two-way relationship with fans and the local community".
Quay FM is already a commercial partner of PFC, transmitting live coverage of the Premiership club's games.
The joint venture will see live coverage of games and news transmitted across the other two TLRC stations to extend coverage beyond the Portsmouth area.
"The fans will hear far more about the goings on at the club both on and off the pitch, while our sponsors will see their profile raised with more broadcast coverage of the club," said Peter Storrie, the chief executive of Portsmouth FC.
The deal with TLRC follows the recent relaunch of the club's official website, portsmouthfc.co.uk, and a broadband subscription service, PfcTV.
TLRC's three radio stations will continue to be managed independently of PFC.

Eastleigh 0 - 1 Pompey

Despite, Harry Redknapp's side playing just last night against local side, Havant & Waterlooville, the likes of Sol Campbell, Pedro Mendes, Niko Krancjar amongst others, and new signings Sunny Muntari and, Martin Cranie , were all on show this evening at the Silverlake Stadium. But it was Benjani who scored the only game of the match, I hope he has more to come. So it's of to the Barclays Premier League Asia Trophy Pompey's first far east tour so Play Up Pompey!!!!!!!

Milan Mandaric condemns police raids WHO?

Got this from the The Telegaraph on line
A day after the game was left reeling by police raids on three clubs and two individuals, the former chairman of one of the clubs, Milan Mandaric, claimed that the authorities had approached the allegations of corruption the wrong way.
It is understood that one of the transfers the City of London Police are investigating is the £2 million transfer of Amdy Faye, from Portsmouth to Newcastle in January 2005.
Mandaric, then the chairman at Fratton Park and now in charge at Leicester, was irked by the nature of the early morning raids and the way the details were made public.
He said: "I think it is definitely the wrong way to approach it. It is something that football doesn't need at this time, especially in the Portsmouth case when we know there is nothing there. If they want to give something to the public they should have some facts.
"When I was at Portsmouth, to my knowledge we never had any problems."

Well this did happen when Milan was there so I have to trust his words. But I would bet a dodgy AGENT is involved in this no not Redknapp!!!
