Havant & Waterlooville 0 - 2 Pompey

So it’s that time of year when we play the Hawks, last year we lost not a problem only a friendly you would say. I agree but we did have a good team out that time and as we will have this time. The weather forecast was for lots of rain and thunder so it looked like the game may be called of, but no except for a little rain it was sunny if a bit windy.
I like Westleigh Park it’s got a relaxed feel to it even with 3000 odd Pompey and Hawks fans in it, but the PA system could do with a bit of a beef up.
The game was the usual pre-season in the first half but Nugent was the one that caught my eye, maybe a bit to enthusiastic if he would calm down a bit that goal will come.
The second half was much better with both sides playing well, bit Pompey has the better class and fitness and it showed when Davis scored a lovely goal on 65 mins, it was followed up with a goal from Songo to make it 2 nil. If it was not for Scrivens the Hawks Goalkeeper the goal tally would have been a lot more Scrivens made some fantastic saves and denied Nugent his first Pompey goal.

So of to Havant Tommorow

After work I shall be going into Havant to watch Pompey play the Hawks at Westleigh Park Play Up Pompey!!!!!!!

Police Raid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What!?

Police launched raids on Newcastle, Portsmouth and Rangers today as part of an investigation into alleged corruption in football. The raids were instigated by the City of London police, who revealed that search warrants were executed this morning. The investigation is completely separate to the inquiry carried out by Lord Stevens and his firm Quest into alleged illegal payments in Premier League football. Pompey said "We can confirm that the police arrived at about 10am this morning" said Pompey's director of communications Gary Double.
"We have co-operated fully with their search and will not be commenting further."

I will keep an eye on this one.

Yeovil 0 - 2 Pompey

Pompey get of to a winning start the the pre-season at Yeovil Town with goals fromm Lua-Lua and trialist Giovanni?. Sylvain Distin, Martin Cranie, David Nugent, Sulley Muntari and Hermann Hreidarsson all made their Pompey debuts. So it's Havant & Waterlooville on Tuesday and I do hear that Pompey will bring a stong side.

New Kit, Megastore and Players

So another kit makes its way to Pompey and it looks ok, but Pompey have moved up a bit in the world by opening a Megastore and is also the new Pompey HQ, so I may pop down next week and check it out. This new Megastore is at Rodney road next to Fratton Park.
So Pompey have so far "gulp" spent over £20m pounds on new players!!!!
In: Sylvain Distin (Manchester City, free), Hermann Hreidarsson (Charlton Athletic, free), Sulley Muntari (Udinese, £million), Martin Cranie (Scum, undisclosed),David Nugent (Preston North End £6million),John Utaka (Rennes £8.1million)

Out: Svetoslav Todorov (Charlton Athletic, free)

Not Sure: Nigerian front-man Kanu will feel the heat to make up his mind over whether to take up a one-year extension on the table, according to Redknapp.

Pre-Season Time

So Pompey are going west to play Yeovil Town F.C. tommorow at 3pm. It only seems like yesterday we were playing Arsenal and not getting into Europe! So Pompey will be playing in the new kit ( yes another one!) but this time Pompey have I think got a good kit makers in Canterbury. So Play Up Pompey!!!!!!!!!!!!!
